Future home!

We got married housing! Will and I now know where we'll be living after we get married. I'm really excited because this means I can stop checking BYU, Craig's List, and KSL every morning. We got into BYU married student housing - Wymount Terrace. It's a two bedroom place on the first floor - which thankfully means we don't have to carry furniture upstairs when we move in. This is the floor plan for our new place. We can move in July 31st - which is great because it means we can move all our stuff over before we leave for the wedding. That way it won't be quite so crazy when we get back. It's crazy to think we'll be setting up our very own apartment!

JOB!!!

Yep - that title is in all caps with four exclamation points - I'm excited about this, if you can't tell. I just finished my first week at my new job. I got hired last Saturday and started on Monday as a medical assistant for a pediatrician. It's great! I've learned out to prepare and give vaccines - not nearly as hard as my phlebotomy class. I can now bring patients back to the rooms and take vitals. I'm also doing a lot of front office stuff. I schedule appointments, prepare charts, verify insurance, and take co-pays. I'm sure as the weeks go by that list will get longer and longer. The only downside to the job is that it's in West Jordan so it's a bit of a drive, but it's worth it because this job gives me paid clinical experience which is what I need to get into PA school in a couple of years. This week the most exciting development - a possible case of swine flu - we're still waiting to hear back about the swab we sent to the health department. Stay tuned for more exciting work updates!

Trip to Seattle

Ok - so this is a little late, but better late than never right? After we finished finals - Will and I headed North to Seattle to visit my family and see Will's grandpa. It was a fabulous trip. We started it out right by stopping to get double blueberry cake doughnuts in Kaysville before the long car ride up to Seattle. I say car ride because Will did most of the driving - I think I drove a grand total of 3 hours - it takes twelve. Thanks again Will! We rolled into my parents house on Saturday evening. Sunday Will met the rest of the "extended family" aka my home ward. When they introduced him as my fiance in priesthood - Dan Shane wanted to put it to a vote. We spent monday with Blake - a trip down to Pike Place Market and running other errands with him while he got ready to leave on Tuesday for Spain. We also had our engagement pictures taken. I'm not the biggest fan of having my picture taken, but I like the way they turned out. We went to my favorite park - Luther Burbank - to take the pictures. I'll post some once we get access to them.

Tuesday we took Blake to the airport - and then headed over to Grandpa's. We stopped along the way to visit Pam and Craig in Olympia - which was really fun. Craig's working on a neat project about the homeless. Then we made it to Grandpa's. Ann had to work late - so we sat and listened to Grandpa's stories - it was great! All of my grandparents have passed away already - so it's really a treat to marry into a family and get three grandparents. Will had not fully prepared me for the beauty of where Grandpa lives! The next morning Grandpa made us french toast - bacon and hot chocolate with LOTS of marshmallows. Then we walked up his street with him to deliver some dahlia bulbs to a neighbor and we walked back along the beach. Then we all took a nap on the floor before heading back to my parents house. It was great!

Thursday and Friday my mom took off work so she could do wedding stuff with us. We went down to Danie's Broiler - where we're going to have the reception and talked over the last few details that needed to be decided - the food is going to be delicious - not that I'll get to eat much of it - between talking to people and being in a corset I don't think eating will be much of an option that day. We also tasted cake and picked out our flowers. So really poor Will just got drug along for all of the girly things that have to be decided for a wedding - he's a good sport. And he did get to taste cake - which was exciting. Saturday we drove back to Provo.

Overall the trip was really relaxing and a nice vacation from school and work - we read the 6th Harry Potter aloud - getting ready for the movie that comes out July 15th. Anybody who wants to join us for a midnight showing is welcome! :)

Engagment Pictures

We took pictures on Monday. The photographer posted a few on her blog and she said the rest will be up on an online gallery in the next few days.
